Stainless steel conquers haute cuisine

Adorno Bcn fuses art, engineering, and fine dining by creating environment-blended pieces that elevate the gastronomic experience

THE CHALLENGE AND THE CONCEPT

Vajilla-escultórica "Medusa" by ADORNO BCN. Acero inoxidable #91

The starting point stems from the need in fine dining to present culinary creations on exclusive supports that offer beauty without diminishing the plate's prominence. The aesthetic and technical challenge lies in designing sculptural pieces capable of capturing the essence of each gastronomic space, enduring high structural demands, such as 50 kg wooden elements subjected to mechanical stress, and complying with strict food sector requirements.

THE SOLUTION AND ITS DEVELOPMENT

Mariana and Alberto respond by fusing stainless steel with materials such as glass and walnut wood, transforming the metal through welding, deformation, and artisanal polishing. From creations inspired by Mediterranean posidonia to sommelier tables with sculptural bases, the pieces interact directly with the user. The result is aesthetically refined containers that appear visually lightweight and feature organic shapes that mimic the surroundings of prestigious chefs.

Direct Applications
Supports for sculptural tableware, structures in the form of posidonia meadows made of 1 mm strips, and sculptural table legs.

Life Cycle
Long-lasting material with unlimited durability that retains its aesthetic and structural properties with virtually no degradation.
