Adventure playgrounds, increasingly present in urban and natural environments, require construction solutions that combine strength, safety and low maintenance. These facilities, designed for both leisure and physical education, are subject to intensive use and environmental conditions that challenge the durability of materials. Therefore, the design of each structure requires a careful choice of components, from platforms and walkways to anchoring and safety systems.
In these environments, the interaction with the exterior, rain, humidity, solar radiation, thermal changes or the presence of salinity in coastal areas, requires the use of materials that maintain their mechanical and aesthetic properties over time. Materials that do not require continuous surface treatment or frequent replacement are particularly valued. Treated wood, high-density polyethylene plastics and corrosion-resistant steels are commonly used solutions.

Stainless steels play a key role in the latter group, especially in components subjected to high stress or areas where contact and friction are constant. Blocks, turnbuckles, carabiners, handrails, supports or fastening systems must guarantee safety, hygiene and ease of maintenance.
Manufacturers specialising in adventure park equipment have developed specific parts adapted to each kind of circuit: from jumping platforms to lifelines or suspended walkways. In all cases, the priority is on resistance, compatibility with other materials and the possibility of customisation.

The ease of bending, welding or machining some metals allows for greater freedom in design, adjusting the shapes to the topography of the terrain and the mobility needs of the users.
This same solution has been successfully applied in other similar projects, such as the ‘Caminito del Rey’ walkways, where stainless steel has demonstrated excellent structural and visual performance.
