THE CLIENT: Private
This is a private project for the renovation of an attic located at Embajadores Street, in the center of Madrid.
THE PROJECT
Bruno Lavedán carried out the renovation of this cozy attic, an original 70s construction, in Embajadores st., Madrid. The proposal begins with a reinterpretation of the building’s history, with the use of raw, cold and warm materials that in harmony give life to a cozy space with subtle nods to the 70s.
The new distribution, designed to maximize natural light and adapt to the rhythm of life of its owners, completely transforms the functionality of the attic. The daytime area is conceived as a large fluid space that integrates living room, dining room and kitchen with a central island designed for enjoyment and connection.
THE STAINLESS STEEL
Linoleum, original plaster and stainless steel coexist in harmony in this design. The color palette plays with white, black, gray and wood but adds vibrancy with sparks of color, such as the orange tone of the iconic Togo sofa by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset and the red of the large linear suspended lamp over the kitchen island. It is in this piece, the kitchen’s central island, where stainless steel stands out. The solid 5 mm width stainless steel plate combined with a natural ash front.
