Ferritic Stainless Steel
The ferritic stainless steels are also alloys made of iron, chromium and carbon with higher chromium content and lower carbon than martensitic ones.
Their typical values are C < 0,10% ; Cr 16 – 18%
The most representative ferritic stainless steel grade is AISI 430, EN1.4016.
Their mechanical characteristics allow medium forming. They are easy-welding and very commonly used in applications where appearance is important.
Their corrosion resistance is higher than the resistance of martensitics.
